New date, new venue, same great event — but BIGGER

After 42 years of walking for change, we decided to make a change ourselves.

The organizers of the Walk for Peace, the Environment and Social Justice have decided to go big for our 43rd annual event.

This year, after The Walk we’ll have Rock the Walk, a free afternoon music festival featuring a diverse and talented slate of original local music, performance and art.

This family event takes place Saturday, June 23 at the band shell in Riverside Park.

We’ll start with an opening program at noon, followed by the walk through downtown at 12:30. The festival kicks off when the procession arrives back at the bandshell and carries on until 8 p.m.

What can you do?

* Volunteer to help

* Bring your people out

* Kamloops Peace Walk/Music Festival has a Go Fund Me account for this event, so donate what you can and share the message with your friends.

* Enter a float in the float competition.

You’re also welcome to attend an organizational meeting if you wish.
